Where the AI is, and where it stops.
Auto Advisor is an AI product, so the honest thing is to be specific about it rather than reassuring about it. This page says exactly what the AI does, what it is never allowed to do, who is in control of each decision, and what happens to your data. Questions: privacy@autoadvisorpartners.com.
The AI always says it is an AI
On every call it places or answers, the voice agent identifies itself as an AI assistant at the start of the conversation, before it asks the customer anything. It does not imitate a specific named employee, it does not claim to be a person when asked, and it honors a request to stop or to be removed immediately. If a caller asks for a human, getting them to one is the point, not something they have to fight for.
We think a customer should never finish a call wondering whether they were talking to a person. That is a floor, not a feature.
Where AI is actually used
| Where | What it does | The limit |
|---|---|---|
| Inbound and outbound phone calls | An AI voice agent answers missed calls and follows up with customers | It says it is an AI at the start of every call, without being asked |
| The in-app assistant | Answers questions about your shop’s numbers, schedule, and history | Reads your data to answer you; never acts on its own |
| Drafting customer messages | Writes first-draft texts, emails, and estimates for your review | You control whether it sends or waits for approval |
| Lead research | Gathers public business listings when an operator asks it to | Public information only, started by a human |
| Marketing content | Blog posts and educational material on this site | AI-assisted, spot-checked, may publish automatically |
You decide how much autonomy it gets
Every agent has three settings, and the default is the cautious one. Off means it does nothing. Approve means it drafts and waits for a human to release it. Auto means it acts inside the limits you set. You can change this at any time, per agent, and turning everything off is always one action away.
What the AI is never allowed to do
It does not authorize repairs, approve or change a price, take payment, or commit your shop to work. It does not call anyone who has not consented or who is on a Do-Not-Call list, and that is enforced in software rather than left to a prompt. It does not diagnose a vehicle in place of your technician, and it does not make employment decisions about your team.
Anything that costs a customer money or commits your shop needs a human. That is a deliberate product decision, not a limitation we are working to remove.
Your shop data never trains an AI model
We use AI providers under business API terms where your data is not used to train their models. Your data is never used to train any public AI model, it is never sold, and it is never pooled with another shop’s data. Tenant isolation is enforced at the database layer, so one customer’s information cannot reach another’s AI session.
The full list of companies that process data on our behalf, what each receives, and where it is hosted is on the privacy and sub-processors page, kept in one place so the two can never drift apart.
Calls, recordings, and consent
Outbound calls require recorded consent on the contact record and are blocked for anyone on a Do-Not-Call list. Where a call is recorded or transcribed, that is disclosed on the call, and applicable state consent law is followed. A customer can ask to be removed at any point and the system honors it going forward, including across future campaigns.
When the AI is wrong
It will be, sometimes. An AI can sound confident and still be mistaken, which is exactly why the limits above exist and why nothing binding happens without a person. Every AI action is logged so you can see what it did and why. If the agent said something wrong to one of your customers, tell us and we will show you the log, correct it, and fix the underlying cause.
Using AI does not move responsibility off us and onto a vendor. If our product did it, it is ours to answer for.
Content on this site
We use AI tools in producing our written, audio, and video content, including blog posts and educational material. Claims about your data, our security posture, or how the product behaves are written and checked by a human before they publish, because those are promises rather than commentary.
Questions
Email privacy@autoadvisorpartners.com and a person will answer. If you want to know whether AI touched a specific interaction with one of your customers, ask, and we will pull the log and tell you.
